Every year Participants and other stakeholders are able to see the Dormant Assets Scheme first-hand, as beneficiary groups present inspirational speeches at RFL’s Annual Event.

The case studies below provide just a small sample of the social and environmental initiatives that benefit from the Scheme.

Harry Specters

Harry Specters is a chocolate factory and social enterprise. Along with creating delicious artisan chocolates, they also provide work experience, employment opportunities and training to young autistic people.

Fair For You

Through Fair4All Finance, the Dormant Assets Scheme has been able to help organisations like community lender Fair For You, to provide a financial lifeline to those who need it most, offering financial education and affordable loans.

People, Potential, Possibilities (P3)

People, Potential, Possibilities. P3 Charity (P3) was established in 1972 and now operates across the UK, delivering services for people facing social exclusion and homelessness.

Merseyside Youth Association Talent Match

Merseyside Youth Association’s scheme 'Talent Match' helps young people gain access to qualifications and vital employability skills, increasing their confidence and helping them on the first step to a career and independence.

Groundwork North Wales

Awarded £1.2million in 2017, the project aims to improve a number of green spaces and clear waste, working with volunteers.

Shildon Alive is a community hub based in County Durham providing a range of much needed services to their local community.

Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union

Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Credit Union offer a range of fair and affordable products to members across the Humber region, an underserved area of the country where nearly 20% of the population lives in areas ranked in the 10% most deprived area

The Polar Academy

The Polar Academy is a charity – set up in 2012 – which identifies those young adults in Scottish schools and organisations who are often overlooked by the education system.

1625 Independent People

1625 Independent People works with young people aged 16 to 25 in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset.

East Belfast Mission

East Belfast Mission is using a £99,921 grant to improve the sustainability of their Hosford Homelessness Service which provides accommodation and support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to rebuild their lives.
